School, Sex and Secrets II (School, Sex and Secrets #2) Page 14

  “You think so?”

“Yeah, I really do. Marc is just as popular as Brad, but of course, not nearly as rich or good looking — but he gets his fair share of girls that he has sex with all the time, including me. He knows not to even cross that line of trying to fuck his best friend’s girl.”

  I nodded. “I think you’re right, Ava.”

Hours later, I was sitting at home staring out my window when my phone rang. I looked to see who it was . . . it was Marc! I went into a panic. I stared at it as it rang; I didn’t wanna answer it. It stopped ringing. I looked to see if he’d left a message; he didn’t. I knew what he was calling for so I didn’t wanna answer it. I sighed deeply, knowing that if I would’ve answered it and talked to him that I would be headed over to his house to have sex with him, and I just couldn’t do it.

  CHAPTER 20

The following Monday came faster than I wanted it to, and that always happened when there was something or someone that I wasn’t looking forward to seeing, and in this case, I wasn’t looking forward to seeing Marc, and I was never looking forward to seeing John. Even though all Marc and I did was have phone sex like Ava said, I still couldn’t grasp the fact that it was not cheating. I knew that Marc hadn’t told Brad about it because he would’ve confronted me about it and I would be single once again.

Brad and I held each other as he stood up against his locker. My head laid softly against his chest as his beautiful, muscular arms were wrapped all around me. He was so warm and smelled so good, and I felt so safe in his arms like nothing bad would happen to me or would happen to us. I closed my eyes as he continued to hold me, and he softly kissed me on my forehead. I smiled when he did this as I slowly opened my eyes . . . and saw Marc walking towards us. Since his locker was right next to Brad’s, there was no way that I could avoid him. He was looking right at me as he smiled; I smiled back, but I wasn’t sure how I should’ve took him smiling at me like this.

“Hey, Brad; hey, Vanessa,” he said, as he opened his locker.

“Hey, man. What’s up?” Brad said as he high-fived him with his left hand.

“Hi,” I said softly as my head continued to lay on Brad’s chest.

He nodded at me as he continued to smile at me, and then looked in his locker.

I looked away in the other direction because I just couldn’t face him. Then, I looked back around and saw John staring at me as he opened his locker; I looked away once again.

The bell was about to ring. Brad and I kissed and then he went off to class. Since my class was in this hall, I talked to Ava while Marc talked to Ken and Zac. Ava then went off to her class as did Ken and Zac. I began to walk off to mine.

  “Vanessa,” Marc said.

  I turned around. “Yes?”

“I just wanna say that I’m really sorry about Friday night — I didn’t mean to say what I’d said — I know you’re trying to avoid me because of it, but you don’t have to. I meant it when I said that I have the utmost respect for you and Brad. I was a little drunk that night and wasn’t expecting for you to call me about a dream that you had about the two of us having sex.”

I nodded. “I know, Marc. I felt kind of bad telling you about it because I felt that it’s something that you didn’t have to know. I was so shocked that you said you wanted to have sex with me for real and then just hung up on me, I was just . . .”

“Vanessa, I called you to tell you that I was wrong for saying that. I knew when you didn’t answer that you thought I was calling you to wanna have sex — but I swear I wasn’t. I couldn’t even sleep that night after I’d said that. I’m really sorry.”

“It’s okay, Marc. The bottom line is that we didn’t do anything; it was just a dream that I had. Yeah, we talked about my dream, and then it went into a conversation that went way too far and we both admit that, but like I said, we didn’t act on what we talked about, and that’s the main thing.”

He nodded. “But do you still feel like you cheated on him with me because of what we talked about?”

I looked at him and then looked down at the floor. I looked back up at him as he stared at me as he waited for me to answer him. “Yeah . . . yeah, I feel that I did. You really had me going, Marc. I could feel you doing the things that you said that you were doing to me — it felt so real. You really know how to turn a girl on. You really made me cum; I just wasn’t saying that.”

He smiled at me. “I could tell by the way you sounded that you really were.”

I looked down at the floor as I nodded; I felt very embarrassed.

“Hey,” he said softly as he slowly lifted up my chin. “It’s okay, Vanessa. There is no way that I’ll tell Brad about what we talked about because he doesn’t need to know, okay?”

I looked at him as I nodded. “You’re right, he doesn’t. Well, I better get to class. See you later.”

He looked at me and smiled. “You know you can still talk to me whenever you want.”

“I know that, Marc. Thanks,” I said, and then walked off to class. I could feel him looking at me as I walked to class, and I didn’t wanna look back. Even though we agreed that it was nothing but talk, I was serious when I said that I felt like I cheated on Brad again, so naturally I felt that this was another secret that I had, and this one was worse since it was with Brad’s best friend.

John was standing around a corner — he heard all of this. He walked off to class with a smug look on his face. “That’s all I needed to hear,” he said to himself.

After lunch, Brad and I walked back from the cafeteria with our arms around each other. Marc was walking ahead of us with John at a distance.

“They’re quite the couple, aren’t they?” John said to Marc.

“Yeah, they are, and the hottest couple at this school and at any school,” Marc replied.

“Yeah, if only everyone knew what we know,” John said with a wicked grin.

Marc looked at him. “What do you mean, man?”

“Well, let’s just say that I have a secret with Vanessa, and I know that Brad told you about it.”

  “Yeah, he told me.”

“And I know that you now have a secret with her as well,” John informed him.

Marc looked at him. “What are you talking about, man? There are no secrets between me and Vanessa.”

“That’s not what I heard this morning,” John said as he grinned mischievously at him.

Marc gave him a very serious look. “Look, man, what you heard was nothing more than what was said. I don’t want you going around starting rumors about me fucking her, okay? Brad is my best friend and I want him to stay my best friend, as well as I want him and Vanessa to stay together,” he said in a whisper.

John grinned with a shrug. “I wasn’t gonna say anything, man. So that must’ve been a hell of a conversation that the two of you had over the phone. I mean, after the way she said that you made her cum I’m sure she did feel like she cheated on Brad . . .”

“Stop it, man! I don’t want you saying a damn fuckin’ thing about this!” Marc said in an angry whisper.

“Hey, man, my lips are sealed,” John said with a grin.

Marc looked at him while he tried to figure out whether or not he wanted to believe him.

  CHAPTER 21

During Senior English, I sat in class as I tried to listen to what was being talked about as I had my left arm up on my desk with the left side of my head resting on my left hand, blocking me from looking at John and Lisa, and they knew it.

My phone vibrated; I looked at it. There was a message from John . . . So U and Marc, huh? I heard all about it. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing! I looked at him; he looked at me and cracked a mischievous grin. I texted him back. What do U mean U heard? There is nothing going on between Marc and me! Stop tryin’ to start shit! I sent it and watched him as he read the text; he smirked. I saw him texting me back, and it came to me seconds later. What I mean by what I heard is that I literally heard the 2 of U talking this morning. U should be more
careful about what U say in these halls because U never know who could be around the corner! I stared at the text as I couldn’t believe it. I shook my head knowing that he now had something else on me, but still nothing was worse than what I had on him. I angrily texted him back. So what R U gonna do, John? Tell Brad that Marc and I are fucking each other? Huh?! I watched him as he laughed quietly while he read my text. I looked back down at my phone to see what he’d texted back. I’m not gonna tell Brad anything because after all, you’re his girlfriend, not mine . . . but U R gonna be mine whenever I wanna fuck! Remember that!! I looked up at him — he looked at me and made a kissing gesture to me — I looked away and then looked back seconds later and saw him and Lisa both looking at me as they talked. I knew they were talking about me and I couldn’t help but to think that John was telling her about Marc and me.

After school, Brad and I stood by his SUV as he held me in his arms. Ava stood by us as she talked to Zac, Ken, and Veronica. I looked over and saw Lisa talking to Marie by her car, and wondered what they were talking about. I continued to look around and saw Marc talking to John as he stood by John’s car . . . .

“Look, man, I don’t want you saying anything to Vanessa about what you overheard!” Marc said.

John grinned. “Too late — she already knows.”

Marc looked shocked! “Why the fuck are you doing this, man? What is your fuckin’ point? Are you that fuckin’ bitter because Brad got her and you didn’t?”

“Why would you say that, man? I don’t want the bitch like that. She’s a fantastic fuck — I know that much. Maybe you should do it with her for real and you’ll see what I mean instead of holding sex conversations with her over the phone.”

“Don’t fuckin’ start on that, man! Since you heard everything that we said, you know that we both said that it was wrong for us to have talked like that to each other and that was the only time that we did! You know, you’ve been really acting like an asshole since Natalie was murdered, and I wonder why?”

John gave him a very evil look — one that he’d never given him before — Marc didn’t show it, but the look scared him. “What do you mean, man? I thought everyone was down because of what happened to her — I’m not any exception to that.”

“How did her phone get in my drawer, man, huh?” Marc asked.

John looked at him. “How the fuck should I know, man?”

But Marc wasn’t buying it, but since he knew that John had put it there he didn’t want to say anything yet since John still didn’t know that he knew. “I think you do know, so I think you better leave me, Brad, and Vanessa alone. Your petty shit about wanting to start something about me and Vanessa fucking each other isn’t gonna work, man. You should be worried about your own damn self.”

“And what is that supposed to mean?”

“You know what that means, John, so I’m only gonna tell you just this once — fuck off of all of us, and we won’t have any problems with you. You do enjoy your freedom, don’t you?”

“Don’t cross me, man! Otherwise you’re gonna be sorry that you did!” John said, and then opened up his car door.

  “Hey, John!” Marc said.

John looked up at him. “What’s up?”

“As you heard at Brad’s house that night, you know, that night when everyone thought that I was the one who killed Natalie? Well, just to refresh your memory, I’ve been eliminated through DNA . . . have you?”

John looked at him and didn’t say a thing. He got into his car and left. “Those motherfuckers told him that I killed Natalie and planted her phone in his drawer. That’s it, they’re gonna have to go . . . all of them!” he said as he drove home.

Marc walked over to Brad and me since his car was parked right next to Brad’s. The look on his face was some cause for concern so I knew that John had probably said something that was threatening to him.

“I need to talk to you two and Ava, as well as Marie,” Marc said.

“Marie is leaving — there she goes,” I said, as I pointed to her car as it left out of the school parking lot. I turned my attention to Ava as she was about to get into her car. “HEY, AVA! COME HERE!” I yelled over to her.

“See if you can get Marie to come back here because it’s very important,” Marc said.

I looked at him and then got on my phone and called Marie.

  “Hey, Vanessa,” Marie said.

“Hey, Marie. I was wondering if you could swing back around here to school? Marc said that he needs to talk to all of us.”

  “About what?”

“I’m not sure — I’m assuming it’s about John,” I said as I looked at Marc; he nodded at me. “Marie, it is about John.”

  “Okay, I’ll be right there.”

The parking lot was almost empty as Brad, Ava, Marc, Marie, and I stood in it next to Brad’s SUV and talked.

“Look, John knows that I know that he killed Natalie,” Marc informed us.

  We all gasped!

“Why the fuck did you tell him, man?!” Brad asked.

“I didn’t! I just asked him how did her phone get in my drawer and that he’s been acting like an asshole since Natalie was murdered. And, I reminded him that the night at your house, Brad, when everyone accused me of killing Natalie, that DNA eliminated me and asked him did it eliminate him. I didn’t come right out and say that I know that he’s the one that killed her, but it was the way he looked at me. It was an evil, wicked look — one that I’ve never seen on his face before.”

“But he knows that you know now, Marc!” Ava said with a clear tone of panic in her voice.

“Great! He’s gonna try and do something to all of us now! There are too many people who know that he’s the real killer!” Marie said, as her voice sounded like Ava’s.

“Look, I want the motherfucker to go to jail just like all of you, and we all know by now that he’s not gonna go without a fight. Actually, I think the more that know that he did it, the better — it’ll create an intimidation factor. With all these people knowing, it’ll be all of us against him and he’ll have no choice but to give himself up if we all keep threatening him instead of letting him constantly threaten us,” Marc said.

We all looked at him and nodded because we all couldn’t disagree with the fact that John had been scaring all of us out of going to the cops and telling them that it was him who killed Natalie, even though we didn’t have his DNA to prove yet that he did it.

“Marie, you shouldn’t be scared that he’s gonna tell on you for shooting him. From what Brad told me, John has no proof that you shot him and you didn’t leave any of your DNA on him. Also, they can’t do a trace of where the bullets came from because Brad said that he disposed of your gun,” Marc said.

Brad nodded. “And he did ask me where it was and I didn’t tell him.”

“Good!” Marie said, and then breathed a sigh of relief.

“Look, what he did to Natalie was far worse than what you did to him, Marie. He’s lucky he’s still alive and since he is, he needs to be in prison for the rest of his life as far as I’m concerned,” Marc said.

  We all nodded in agreement.

Marie smiled. “I’m glad you said that, Marc. Like I told Brad and Vanessa, I would’ve never shot him if he didn’t kill Natalie. But I don’t wanna go to prison for what I did because it was a revenge shooting.”

“We all know it was and we’re gonna do whatever we can to make sure that you don’t go to prison. You shooting him should be the least of his worries,” Brad said.

“Yeah, it should be. We all just need to team up against his ass, I say. We need to start putting the fear in him instead of him putting it in us and trying to make threatening deals with us. I’m tired of playing his games — he’s gonna start playing ours until he’s put in prison and I won’t give up until his fuckin’ ass is behind bars!” I said.

Everyone smiled at me as they nodded in agreement.

“Well, I need to get home so I’ll see you all tomorrow. I’ll let
you all know if John calls me,” Marc said.

  We all nodded.

“I’m coming over your house so I’ll see you in a few minutes,” Brad said to me.

“Okay,” I said with a smile.

We kissed, and then I got in my car and left, and Ava and Marie got into their cars and left as well.

While I was on my way home with Brad following behind me, my phone rang; it was Marc. “Hey, Marc.”

“Hey, Vanessa. John told me that he told you about overhearing you and me talking about Friday night to each other — is that true?”

I sighed. “Yeah, it’s true. I was actually gonna call you and tell you. He texted me about it during English class. I’m so sick of his shit, Marc, I really am, and I mean it when I say that I’m not taking any more of it.”

“Well, neither am I — none of us are. The nerve of that motherfucker to think that he shouldn’t spend one day in prison for what he did to Natalie. I’m sorry for pretty much saying to him that I knew that it was him who killed her, but it has taken everything out of me not to beat the shit out of him for tryin’ to set me up like that. You know I’ve never done anything bad to him so he had no reason to do what he did.”

“I know you haven’t, Marc, but even if you did do something bad to him, I’m sure it would not have been bad enough to try and frame you for a brutal murder. Honestly, he tried to frame you simply because you were her ex. John is a fuckin’ narcissistic sociopath — I think we can all come to that conclusion now. You know, I studied that crap in Psychology I class last year but I never knew that I would end up having to deal with one.”

He chuckled. “You’re damn right about that, Vanessa. John is gonna get what’s coming to him, no doubt, and we’re all gonna see to that.”
